A Gazillion Types of Gift Baskets
Gift baskets are a tradition going all the way back to the pilgrims landing in the new world. People exchange gifts as a way of friendship. Gift baskets are given at almost any occasion. Baskets are sometimes given when there is a new neighbor moving in, if a baby is born, or as a gift for a wedding or shower. Graduation from school is another great time to give a gift basket. There probably isn’t anything a basket can’t be given for.The wonderful thing is that if one gets a gift basket, it is almost always given in friendship or love. If someone receives a basket, it is common courtesy to reply through the mail with a thank you letter. Even though people may not expect anything in return, it is common courtesy to express your gratitude. Take the time to thank everyone who sent you a gift. It will make someone’s day when they receive an acknowledgment or better still a letter appreciating the gift that they got for someone. As people, we were made to be social creatures; we really need people around that can pick us up when we fall down.
Wedding
The reason for bringing a gift will dictate what is appropriate to add in the gift basket. An example for someone who is going on their honeymoon might be a good bottle of wine with some cheese and crackers. All of this wrapped in the colors of the wedding would be a nice finishing touch.Hospital
If someone is going to the hospital, one may want to drop by to say hello and give a gift basket with things that can help during their stay. Some things that can give a touch of home, instead of the drab surroundings of a hospital room. Things like lip balm and slippers, maybe even a favorite coffee mug. Anything that is a reminder of home and family would be a great touch.One does not need to panic when putting a gift basket together. Use common sense and think about what it is that one would want if they were in the same situation. It isn’t very hard to do; just make it personal and it will look well thought out. The person receiving it will be so happy and it will make the person who sent it feel good too. If people would think of others more than they think of themselves, our days would be filled with more joy.
